Multi-Shift Tasks is a shift task-oriented initiative, designed to achieve a specific goal with a predetermined target or rate for continuous processes such as
Production-related activities that require multiple shifts (e.g. bogging / drilling on a particular location)
Tech Services-related activities where a detailed list of activities is not necessary (e.g. dismantling)
Setting up a Multi-shift task
Go to the Planning board or Scheduler screen
Right click on to the task that needs to be made as MST.
Select Make into Multi-Shift task.
Populate the required information
1. Start date and shift of the MST.
2. Start Time Offset means how many minutes from the start of the shift the task is planned to start.
3. Total Target and units. Example: 10000 tons.
4. Average Hour Rate is the amount of progress an operator accomplishes per hour. Example: 100 tons/hr.
5. Average Duration per Shift means the effective shift length.
6. Assigned equipment is the default equipment that will be used for the MST .
7. Choose what shift/s the MST will be scheduled in Restrict to Shifts.
8. Click Apply to create the MST.
9. If it’s a time based MST, tick Time Based Total Target.
10. Enter Total Target hours the task is required to be completed.
System behaviour
Continuous recalculation of the required shift tasks based on the entered task actuals to achieve the set total target.
Note that tasks within MST are linked in the database so tasks can be identified if it’s on the same sequence.
Limitations
MST cannot be imported. Needs to be done manually.
MST cannot be edited once started.
Before starting (meaning before any of the tasks is close out) the start date can be moved by editing the multi-shift job.
Once started you can:
End the MST: this will remove all the jobs that haven't been closed out and then create a new job.
Skip or move dates in which the tasks will be executed by using the green "X" or "arrows". The "X" will skip that shift (and add a task at the end of the sequence to ensure same number of tasks are kept as part of it).
Links are automatically created; hence, this can't be deleted to manage the tasks individually.
MST cannot be duplicated.
MST cannot be moved to Planned task section.
MST can't be rescheduled by dragging and dropping.
