Task Types determine the category of the tasks (e.g. mechanical, electrical, operational, etc.) in CiteOps. This helps planners and schedulers to group Standard Tasks by their types on the Planning Board. When closing out tasks in the mobile version, users can filter the tasks by Task Type.

Add a New Task Type

  1. In the Manage Screen, navigate to the 'Task Types' section

  2. Click 'Add Task Type'

  3. Enter the Name and ShortCode of the new Task Type.

  4. Select any default options. If you would like the tasks of this Task Type to show up in a specific color in the planning screens, tick the 'Color' box and select a color.

  5. Click Save.

Important: The Task Type will only be active once you have enabled it for the required department(s), see next step.

Enable a Task Type for a Department

Departments are divisions dealing with a specific area of an activity. Each process belongs to one department, e.g. the processes 'Electrical' and 'Development' might belong to a department called 'Mining Ops'.

Task Types are enabled on a department level. This means that any tasks scheduled to a process of that department can use the task type.

  1. Navigate to the Manage Screen and to the Departments

  2. Double click on the Department you wish to enable the Task Type for

  3. Check the Task Type, or uncheck the Task Type if you with to disable it

  4. Click Save

Planners & Schedulers can now use this Task Type, which will appear in the drop-down menu in the Task Type field.

Edit an Existing Task Type

  1. Double click on the Task Type you would like to edit in the Task Type Screen.

  2. Make any changes and click Save.

  3. To enable/disable Task Types for a department, head to the Department screen, double-click on the department and tick/un-tick the box of the Task Type.

Delete a Task Type

  1. In the Task Type Screen, select the Task Type and click 'Delete'

Any existing tasks which have that Task Type will remain and not be deleted, but their task type will be empty.

  2. If you only wish to disable the Task Type for certain departments, see 'Edit an Existing Task Type' above.
